Has anyone here bought a Virtual DJ pro licence?
Hello,
In the chain of bars/clubs I work for, most of us use Traktor. But there are a few people using Virtual DJ.
I know that Virtual DJ is only free for home use: if you're getting paid to play in bars and clubs, you need to buy a licence. And the licences really aren't cheap: they're $299. They offer cheaper licences that are locked to specific controllers, but those licences also don't allow paid use and they're still $99 - $199.
This is a lot more expensive than Traktor ($99 for base software, $99 upgrade to add DVS) or Serato ($129 for base software, $99 upgrade to add DVS).
My question for Virtual DJ users is this: what made you choose Virtual DJ over 'the big kings' Traktor and Serato? Did you just buy it because you'd used the free version before 'going pro' and didn't want to learn new software, or was there another reason?
